ELIZABETH GIESBRECHT (nee WIELER) 1922 - 1999 Elizabeth was born in Steinbach. Her adult years were spent in Winnipeg, where she raised her children while working as a private nurse. Her life had its share of tragedy as she lost two children. A son, Walter, died in infancy and Brenda passed away as a teenager. She was also predeceased by her parents and five siblings, Helen, Rosemary, Peter, Benjamin and Phyllis. Elizabeth worked hard as a single mother to support her two daughters. Life was sometimes a challenge but she always provided for her children. Elizabeth was proud when her daughter, Valerie earned her university degree as a nurse. She beamed with joy when her two grandchildren were born. Surviving Elizabeth are Valerie, son-in-law Hugh, and grandchildren Heather and Andrew. Elizabeth passed away on December 31, 1999. She is now at peace with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. "In my Fathers house there are many mansions ... I go to prepare a place for you." Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. at Oakbank United Church, 582 Balsam Crescent at Cedar, Oakbank. Interment in Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
